Where the Locals Go

  • Cafe Pasqual’s— For more than 40 years, Cafe Pasqual's has been a local favorite. Breakfasts are sublime, but so are lunch and dinner. Their commitment to scratch cooking and organic ingredients make it worth the wait. Be prepared to wait and stroll through the upstairs art gallery.
  • Dolina Bakery & Cafe— Known for their hearty modern American brunch menu with Eastern European influences, Dolina never disappoints. But be ready to wait for a table. The benefits of waiting mean you can entertain yourself with one of their gorgeous pastries. It will make the wait so much more delicious.
  • Dulce Capital— Santa Fe's premier small-batch-from-scratch bakery. "We make what we bake." Dulce is a neighborhood-style bakery and coffee house emphasizing local, fresh ingredients. We bake everything from scratch in our kitchen, offering a wide assortment of breakfast pastries, cakes, cupcakes, tarts, brownies and other desserts. We also feature our cinnamon rolls every Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday. And don't forget our popular quiches! All of these can be enjoyed with an espresso beverage or cup of coffee.
  • Harry’s Roadhouse— There's never a time when there's not a wait at Harry's, but this consistently good restaurant with homemade food and fair prices keeps the locals and the tourists in the know returning time and again. Special mentions from the group. Breakfast, pizza, turkey meatloaf, margaritas, pies.
  • Jambo Cafe— If there ever was a local favorite, this is the place. Winner of numerous awards, Jambo Cafe is proud to be named by the Santa Fe Reporter for the Best International Cuisine for 12 years running and Chef Ahmed Obo for “Best Chef” from 2015 – 2021. Jambo Cafe was featured on the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives in 2013 and enjoys a legion of loyal fans who wax eloquent over Chef Obo’s mouth-watering fare. Whether it’s take-out or a catered meal you crave, Jambo Cafe will tempt your palate with flavor and spices.
  • New York on Cantron— The coronavirus pandemic brought on a rebranding for New York Deli. Since reopening in May 2021, this restaurant changed its name to New York on Cantron. They have similar offerings as the New York Deli on the southside.
  • Plaza Cafe Downtown—The Plaza Cafe, Santa Fe’s oldest restaurant, has been serving highly acclaimed, authentic traditional dishes since 1905. In 1947, Dan (Dionysus) Razatos, a Greek immigrant with an American dream, took over the Plaza Cafe and his family has been feeding Santa Fe ever since. Dan married a local girl named Beneranda Maria Montoya Saiz and together they ran the Plaza and raised six children. As their children grew they all worked at the Plaza and helped to create what the restaurant is today. The Razatos family kept the traditional cooking methods and flavor combinations of New Mexico and added some recipes from Greece, all the while keeping with the classic American diner experience. This is why you’ll find everything from blue corn green chile carne asada enchiladas with a warm pillowy sopaipilla to chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gyro with a Greek salad on the side.   Located on the historic Santa Fe Plaza you won’t find a better view or atmosphere while you enjoy an authentic New Mexican experience. A favorite among locals and movie stars alike, everyone finds what they are looking for at the Plaza. Mentions from the group: Frito Pie
