Where the Locals Go

The Great Santa Fe Pizza Quest-The-Santa Fe Foodies Group

About this celebration: The Great Santa Fe Pizza Quest is an ongoing series, celebrating and documenting all of the great pizza joints in town. Some people say that there are no good pizza joints in town. We disagree.

The List

Here are places the group has mentioned. All popular places in town. Also, I have noticed that some Facebook group members are stepping out on their own pizza quests! (very cool). With their permission, I will add their notes and info to this living blog piece which will grow with time.

Important note: One big lesson I have learned about food culture is that everyone has different tastes. There is not one place that everyone unanimously loves. Some like thin crust, while some prefer thick. Some folks like a lot of sauce on their pie while some want just enough. The same goes for cheese. Please always be conscious that we all have different tastes. Let’s have fun!

Low 'n Slow Featuring HAWT Pizza

Ok, I’m not real sure the rules for the great SF pizza quest but we tried HAWT in Low ”n” Slow tonight. Pretty damn good! (with Kevin Southwick at Low ‘n Slow Lowrider Bar)

Bruno's Pizzeria

Tried Bruno’s Pizza for the first time today. Had the NY Sampler, which is a combination of (4) different pizzas on their menu: Il Diavolo, Punchy, Punchy Columbo and Bootlegger. All four were very good, but the standout for me was the Punchy Columbo. The pesto sauce was wonderful! Their crust is also very good. Nice and chewy with a good crunch, and not soggy at all.

My favorite part of the whole experience though, was how wonderful we were treated. They were so very friendly and polite, and we loved visiting with the older gentleman there, who is a Navy Veteran. HooYah, Sir! 💙⚓️💙
